September 22: "The Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods Mayoral Forum in Conjunction with Trinity Presbyterian Church"
July 30, 2009
All, here is an update on our first BCN Mayoral Forum:
The date/time is Tuesday, September 22nd
at 7:00 PM.
The location is Trinity Presbyterian
Church, 3003 Howell Mill Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30327.
Five candidates have been confirmed: Lisa
Borders, Mary Norwood, Kasim Reed, Jesse Spikes and Glenn Thomas.
The forum will be called "The Buckhead
Council of Neighborhoods Mayoral Forum in conjunction with Trinity
Presbyterian Church".
Bill Nigut and Dick Williams have been
confirmed as forum moderators.
Trinity will invite the religious
institutions and BCN will invite all the Buckhead neighborhoods.
Jennifer Moyers will contact Trinity to
organize PR, press releases and media coverage with assistance from Jeremy
Ellis. We may tape the event unless preconditions prohibit.
We will formulate questions for submittal
to moderators as a starting point.
Areas of interest: Taxes & Finance,
Public Safety, Education, Transportation, Parks, and possibly a question on
a social issue.
We want to achieve a focus on Buckhead
issues such as GA 400 interchange, impact fees, etc. Please bring your
questions for submittal to our August 13th BCN board meeting.
It will be an interactive event/discussion and probably a few questions from the audience.
We need to drive publicity and attendance.
Thanks to all.
Jim
