JANUARY 2000

Can They Do That?

Ever wonder whether a developer has gone too far in a new development? Are they following proper practices to protect the environment?  Whom do you contact if you see a violation?

The Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper  (www.chattahoochee.org) and the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission are sponsoring and the Little Nancy Creek Watershed Alliance is hosting a Citizen Soil Watch Workshop on Tuesday, January 25 7-9 pm in room 106 in St James United Methodist Church.

Workshop participants will learn the basics of erosion and sediment law and specific Best Management Practices required under Georgia's law.  Each participant will receive a free erosion patrol 'kit' to help monitor building sites and report problems.

With all the new development going on in our neighborhood it's vital we ensure these developers are following the laws meant to protect our neighborhood.  For more information please contact Nancy Pritchett 4-252-8807.
