Sewer Smoke Testing

Sanitary sewers in the Stovall Blvd area of North Buckhead have periodically overflowed because storm runoff water is somehow getting into the sewer pipes.  In order to find the source, the City plans to conduct "smoke testing".  This involves forcing smoke into the sewer lines and watching where it comes out.  This is a harmless procedure, but it can be alarming to unsuspecting neighbors.  For instance, some homes have had their gutters attached to the sewer lines.  During smoke testing, the harmless smoke would escape from those gutters.  Please watch for additional information about this testing project.  The area impacted is in southeast North Buckhead,
roughly from Stovall south to Peachtree.
