The NBCA annual Christmas Tree Sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, December 2nd and 3rd. The sale will be held at Sarah Smith Elementery School. Saturday from 9:00am to 11:00am will be reserved for pick-up of pre-ordered trees. Sales to the general public will be from 11:00 am until dark on Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 noon until they're gone. Pre-orders can be picked up at any time, but get there early for the best selection.
In addition to Trees, we will once again be selling wreaths, and for the first time, we will be selling the new NBCA T-shirts. Pre order forms will be mailed out soon, so watch out for them.
Want to get a discount on your tree? Volunteers (men & women) are needed to help with the tree sale, and all volunteers will receive $5 off the cost of their tree. To volunteer, or to get more information contact: David Dollar: (W) 770-913-1435 (H) 404-231-5137 ddollar@mindspring.com

The end seems near for the Peachtree Gardens Clubhouse, the 17,000 sq. ft. dance hall on North Ivy Road that was built in 1927. This building, eligible to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has already partially collapsed due to storm damage in 1991.
Developer Louis Reynaud has applied to the Georgia DNR/Historic Preservation Division for preliminary permission to demolish the building. His plan to "mitigate" the destruction of this building is basically to provide the state with a photographic record of the building (on super expensive, non-fading paper), adding a narrative history of the building, with period photos if he can obtain them.
The building site will be used to add two more lots to a 15-lot single-family home subdivision with selling prices ranging from the high $800 thousands to over $1 million.
