North Buckhead is a neighborhood of tall trees, flowers, and verdant lawns. People here take pride in our homes, and it shows. Sarah Smith School has attractive landscaping with daffodils in the spring. Park Pride cares for some of our well-maintained traffic islands.
Other places in our neighborhood, however, are not so lovely. The park on Phipps Boulevard is an example, bought with our taxes, generous contributions, and NBCA dues. The median strips along both Phipps Blvd. and the Buckhead Loop are another. Why do these areas often look poorly maintained? When our Board meets, we talk about how things might be…but we don't have anyone who has volunteered to assure improvements and maintenance take place.
We are hoping you could be that person! Yes…if you are a person who can envision beauty, landscaping, and creative visual changes, and follow through on these ideas, you may be the person we are need…our Beautification Committee Chair. If you are out there, we hope you will volunteer. (Maybe a member of the Garden Club?) For more about this rewarding volunteer position, please call NBCA President Gordon Certain at 404-231-1192/gcertain@nbca.org.
