Greenspace Nominations

River Volunteers Wanted

The City of Atlanta is currently reviewing applications for "Greenspace" candidate locations.

Greenspace is the name for undeveloped land parcels which could be selected as buffers or left undisturbed for neighborhoods to enjoy.  The City of Atlanta has funds to purchase some of this land, to prevent future development.

In August, NBCA President Gordon Certain submitted 16 parcels in our neighborhood to the City of Atlanta for consideration.  Each application was accompanied by photos taken by Gordon.

The documentation forms and a map are now on our web site . Our greenspace page is at www.nbca.org/greenspace.htm.

The Bureau of Planning is currently evaluating the nominations from the various neighborhoods. The
City Council is slated to vote on greenspace acquisition on September 17.
