Zoning Report

K-9 Reminder

We have been asked to remind all dog walkers to be considerate of other walkers in the neighborhood by removing their dogs' fecal material from the streets when they walk their dogs.  Walking the beautiful streets of North Buckhead is wonderful, but dodging doggie deposits is annoying,  unsanitary and unsafe if it is stepped in,  which is easy to do while walking in the evening.  Atlanta Code of Ordinances Sec. 18-9 reads:

"(a) It shall be unlawful for any person owning, possessing, harboring or having care, charge, control or custody of any dog not to remove any feces left by that dog on any sidewalk, gutter, street, lot or other public area. Dog waste shall be immediately removed by placing said matter in a closed or sealed container and thereafter disposing of it in a trash receptacle, sanitary disposal unit or other closed or sealed refuse container."

With the economy the way it is, new development has slowed considerably and we have nothing significant to report about new applications.

Zoning Members Needed

The Zoning Committee is seeking volunteers to be part of the 2002 committee.
