NBCA is very appreciative of its volunteers and especially of those who make the commitment to serve as board members and committee chairs. We would like to recognize the service of a number of people who have served NBCA and now are taking a rest or moving out of our neighborhood.
Tom Breazeale joined our board in February 2000 and worked tirelessly as our newsletter editor. Tom recently took on a new business and needs to devote his efforts to it. Thanks, Tom, for all those professional newsletters.
Sue Certain also joined our board in February 2000 and served both as a board member and as an officer -- Sue has been NBCA Secretary for two years, preparing detailed board meeting minutes. She also contributed as a newsletter author and copy editor and was instrumental in generating interest in creating a Beautification Committee.
Carter DeHaven also joined our board in February 2000 and ably served as Social Co-chair with Suzanne Rubini to provide the neighborhood with two great Spring Flings and two outstanding annual meetings.
Jennifer Krenson joined our board back in March. Previously, she had worked in City Councilmember Lee Morris' office and brought to our board insights into how the city government works and who to contact to get things done. We are sad that Jennifer is moving to Alpharetta.

Kay Beynart, previously NBCA President, board member and campaigner against GA-400 years ago, also served with Bob Young as Co-chair of the NBCA Zoning Committee. Kay's contributions to the neighborhood are innumerable and, as she leaves the Zoning and Land Use Committee, we say, "Thanks, Kay, for everything." Kay continues to serve the community and city in many ways.
Harold Cunliffe was Chair of the Zoning and Land Use Committee before Lamar and, with his comprehensive knowledge of city zoning ordinances and understanding of professional building practices, is also leaving the Zoning and Land Use Committee after many years of service. Harold will have his hands full: he is now president of the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association.
Lamar Miller has chaired the NBCA Zoning and Land Use Committee for the past year. This committee does NBCA's most important work - protecting our homes by ensuring that zoning actions are considered properly and respond to neighborhood concerns. Lamar will stay on as a committee member and is also serving on the board of the Buckhead Action Committee.
