Did you get a Permit?

Tree Sale

Ok, it's barely fall, but we thought it might be a good idea to remind you that NBCA sells Christmas Trees each year at Sarah Smith Elementary School.

We have the tree sale on the first full weekend of December, so please mark your calendar for December 7 and 8 for our tree sale.

Volunteers are needed.  Please call David Dollar at 404-843-3131 or email him at ddollar@mindspring.com.

Over and over, it is the same.  Your home improvement project is just about done when a city inspector shows up and tells you that you are not following city requirements and that you have to make expensive changes or even pay a fine.

How do you avoid such problems?  It's    simple -- get a permit.  The city will ensure you are meeting requirements because it will review your plans.

Whether it is a wall, a driveway, a fence, a tree (dead or alive), a deck, a sidewalk or whatever, you almost certainly need a city permit.  Permits don't usually cost that much but can be time-consuming to get.

If you have any question about whether a permit is needed in any particular situation, it is simple to get an answer -- call the    Bureau of Buildings, 55 Trinity Avenue SW, at 404-330-6145.  If you need to talk to another organization, they'll tell you who to contact.
