infrastructure that goes with growth such as sidewalks, sewers, schools, traffic, etc.

Nancy: How do you feel about the new mayor? And do you think she is doing a good job?

Howard: I have voted in the most part to support the mayor's initiatives.  She is accessible, fair and smart.

Nancy: What do you see for the future for the city of Atlanta?

Howard: I see people coming back to live in the city.  After seeing the City lose population for several years I see a new influx back into town.

I am interested in focusing on some environmental issues for the future. I would like to take a look at the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) from an environmental perspective. Also, to see what new guidelines could be adopted to protect greenspace, trees and our water.

Nancy: What are your personal reflections on the past year? And how do you like your job?

Howard: The work can be exhausting and exasperating but very rewarding. When I can do something to help someone in the community it is a very good feeling. I like being able to solve problems for the neighborhoods I represent, I feel lucky to have this job, and I'm ready to go each day with a smile on my face.
