NBCA Board Candidates--Bios

The following are declared candidates for the Board of the North Buckhead Civic Association to serve a two year term.  Candidates must be NBCA members and must reside within NBCA's boundaries. 

Erika Archibald - Arden Way - has lived in North Buckhead for 17 years, with her husband Robin Sherman. Currently, she is assisting Nancy Jones with the Blue Heron Nature Preserve, and is interested in protecting greenspace and the local environment in general.

Erika has a Ph.D. and M.A. in mass communications from the University of Georgia, and a degree in   English from Vassar College. She has served as a journalist with Atlanta Magazine, as director of public relations for Zoo Atlanta, and as a college professor.  Currently, she is focusing on work with environmental and conservation causes, and studying veterinary technology.

Gordon Certain (I) - North Ivy Rd -
has lived in Atlanta since 1960 and in North Buckhead since 1975. He is married to former NBCA Secretary Sue Certain and has a Paideia School 10th-grader, Jessica. He received a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and worked for Lockheed for 31 years, retiring in 1998 as manager of business systems.

Gordon has been active in NBCA's board since he retired.  He maintains the association web site and served as Treasurer before becoming NBCA Presi
