'Spring Fling' on May 18

Bill Kennedy

We are sad to report that William F. Kennedy died suddenly on April 9 at the age of 62.  You may not have known Bill, but he was North Buckhead Civic Association's only honorary lifetime member.   At one time the Zoning Administrator for the City, in recent years Bill frequently helped North Buckhead and other neighborhoods with zoning and land-use issues.  Bill's work for North Buckhead was always pro bono and first class.

Bill played a major part in the TAP Associates v. City of Atlanta case as a key land-use expert witness for the City -- the result was a Georgia Supreme Court decision which reaffirmed land-use planning throughout the state and which protected our residential areas north of Phipps Blvd and Lenox Road from commercial encroachment.  Bill contributed immensely to the stability and wellbeing of North Buckhead and will be missed.
