Annual Meeting report

Businesses join NBCA

NBCA held its 31st Annual Meeting on March 6.  We had a great meeting with many important guests.

Our keynote speaker, Ira Jackson of the Arthur Blank Family Foundation, spoke to us about their    efforts to fund greenspace acquisition and protect the environment in the Atlanta area.

City Council President Cathy Woolard joined us and spoke and fielded questions, as did Councilmembers Howard Shook, Clair Muller (a former NBCA      President), H. Lamar Willis and Ceasar Mitchell.

Vicki Gavalas  and Mickey McGee, of the Georgia   Department of Transportation, outlined the impact of the construction of the new 17th street bridge and responded to questions about other area traffic concerns such as the widening of Roxboro Road.

Sam Massell of the Buckhead Coalition provided   copies of the "Buckhead Guidebook", which documents Buckhead's many features and resources.

The meeting concluded with the election of NBCA board directors.  All of the candidates for the board were elected, including new board members Andrea Waters, Chris Riggall, and Erika Archibald.

Thanks to everyone who attended this great meeting.  Thanks to Patti Grayson for having the excellent food catered.
