Zoning and NPU-B Report

Neighborhood Restaurants

The following was reported by Waldtraut  "Walda" Lavroff (NPU-B Chair and NBCA Zoning Committee Chair)

NBCA's list of neighborhood restaurants is at     www.nbca.org/restaurants.asp -- North Buckhead has about 40.  We invite you (customers, not owners) to send in comments about the ones you like.  Mail your comments to PO Box 420391 or gcertain@nbca.org.  (We'd like to hear about the new Emeril's Atlanta!)

The NBCA Land Use/Zoning Committee received two applications through the Bureau of Planning in       August:

  • A Variance seeking parking space to extend into the required side yard setbacks at 275 West Wieuca Rd.

  • An application for enclosing the existing deck of the restaurant 'Ten Degrees South' at 4183 Roswell Rd.

In both cases we recommended approval with several conditions to meet code as well as to preserve the character of the neighborhoods.

NPU-B Zoning Committee concurred with our recommendations.

Phipps Plaza art show

"The Artisans", one of the area's premier holiday art events, will again be showcased at Phipps Plaza.  This 2nd annual Holiday Art Festival will be held Saturday,      October 11, from 10am-6pm, and Sunday, October 12. from 12pm to 5pm.  "The Artisans" show, organized by Atlanta artist Firoozeh Underhill, features over 150 fine craftspersons from around the USA.

A wide variety of hand-made artistic mediums will be for sale at the show, including jewelry, sculpture, metalwork, photography, glass, wood, ceramics and mixed  media.

Artists will be present to display their own works. The event has both inside and outside venues, inside the mall's corridors and outside the mall (in the open parking lot area adjacent to P-1 lower level parking, next to Parisians).

For information, contact Firoozeh Underhill at (770) 578-8380, nedapromo@aol.com, or
