Sidewalks Update

The city has scheduled no new sidewalks for the North Buckhead neighborhood in 2004.  However, our neighbors in the Chastain Park neighborhood will soon see a new sidewalk on Interlochen Drive.  This construction effort will also include a short run of about fifty feet, running south of Interlochen down Roswell Road.

Happily, extensive sidewalk construction is planned for Roswell Road.  The design work for Roswell Road sidewalks is ongoing.  The overall endeavor is  a joint project between the City of Atlanta with funding from the federal CMAT program (Congestion Mitigation Air Quality).  Current plans include sidewalks stretching from the intersection of Peachtree and Roswell out to the Atlanta city limits.  Due to the size and scope of this project, it will probably not be completed prior to 2006.

Lenox Police Mini-precinct

The Atlanta Police Department has opened a new "mini-precinct" on the lower part of Lenox Square where the Radio Shack used to be.  The unit is headed by Sgt. Tim Culberson.  The facilities were donated by Lenox Square.  Please drop by to visit or call them -- they are there to serve you.   Their number is 404-467-8061.
