Recycle "Mixed Paper"

City Government Contacts

Beginning February 1, 2004 residents who have City of Atlanta Recycling bins can add mixed
paper
to their curbside bin.

Mixed paper includes old magazines, old telephone directories, junk mail and boxboard, such as cereal boxes and shoe boxes.  The program also accepts old newspapers, aluminum (tin) cans, plastic #1 and #2 bottles (i.e., milk, soda and detergent bottles) glass bottles and jars.

Do not include old corrugated cardboard in your curbside bin.   Corrugated cardboard is only accepted at two drop-off locations, where clearly marked containers are visible from the street.  The cardboard drop-off locations are as follows:

  • Lakewood Substation - 128 Claire Drive, SE
  • Liddell Substation - 1540 Northside Drive
Note: While the Liddell Substation is the closest to North Buckhead, it is about 8 miles away!
Call (404) 330-6776 or (404) 792-1212 if you have questions about the recycling program expansion.
