Dear North Buckhead Newsletter Advertiser,
In response to your interest in the North Buckhead
Newsletter, here is some information about our neighborhood association, our
"North Buckhead Newsletter" and our ad rates.
North Buckhead is the Atlanta neighborhood bounded on the south by Peachtree Road, on the east by Peachtree-Dunwoody Road, on the west by Piedmont and Roswell Roads and on the north by Atlanta’s city limits. It is geographically the second largest neighborhood within Atlanta. (Incidentally, the largest neighborhood is in southeast Atlanta and is mainly undeveloped land.)
North Buckhead is an established single-family residential area with
many new
condominium towers. Currently, our
neighborhood has roughly equal numbers of condominiums and single-family home
units. It also
includes significant institutional areas such as Piedmont Center, Tower Place as
well as major commercial areas such as Phipps Plaza, plus transportation
infrastructure such as the Buckhead MARTA station and the GA-400 Buckhead
interchange. In addition, it has
dozens of excellent restaurants within and near its borders and is home to the unique
in-city Blue Heron Nature Preserve.
The North Buckhead Civic Association was established 39
years ago to represent the interests of North Buckhead homeowners.
NBCA Newsletter Rate Change 2/3/11
The North Buckhead Newsletter is very successful with a 16-page printed circulation of about 4,000 copies USPS mailed four times a year to North Buckhead households. It is also available with color content on NBCA’s web site.
On the other hand, the newsletter is a financial burden to our civic association. In 2010 newsletter ad revenues made up less than 40% of newsletter production and distribution costs. This shortfall, coupled with the fact that we literally have two dozen businesses on the waiting list for newsletter ads, obligated us to reconsider our ad rates for the first time since 2007.
We also considered increasing the number of pages in our newsletter to permit more ads. But we decided against that idea because if the newsletter included more ads than news, it would be less likely to be read (bad for us) and ads would be more likely to be ignored (bad for advertisers).
So, we have decided to change our rates and to provide more options on when payments can be made. The new rates apply to new ads and renewals and not to active subscriptions.
We issue our newsletter four times per year (approximately
in March, July,
October, December.)
