The purpose of this form is to help the Bureau of Planning develop a record of parcels that may be suitable for greenspace protection. Please note that this is not a grant application. The decision to allocate funds to acquire properties rests with the City Council, with recommendations from NPUs, City staff, and the public. Please comment briefly on why you feel it is important to permanently protect this property from development.

These lots are on the southeast corner of the “intersection” of Loridans Drive and GA 400.  The properties immediately adjoin the sound fence along GA 400.  The first lot fronts on Loridans Drive.  The second lot is land-locked.  There is reported to be an old-African American cemetery on these lots – I looked for it but didn’t find it because the site is so heavily wooded and overgrown. 

These lots provide an excellent sound buffer from GA 400 noise for the many houses on Loridans Drive and Glengary Drive.  This site is on a tall hill.  If the trees were removed, the traffic sounds could carry long distances.
